Stage 1

Image Capture

Field operators use the Anubis desktop application to capture high-quality images of documents using professional cameras.

Camera-Based Capture

No scanners required. Define custom capture templates for consistent workflows or use the directory watcher to auto-import from external capture setups. Perfect for fragile, bound, or oversized documents.

QR Code Recognition

Automatic detection of QR codes for batch identification, document metadata, and sequence tracking.

Real-Time Preview

Operators see captured images immediately and can retake if quality doesn't meet standards.

Offline Capability

Local database stores all work. Continue capturing even without network connectivity.

Multi-Camera Support

Compatible with Canon, Nikon, Sony, GoPro, and MTP-connected cameras. Switch between devices and configure settings directly from the application.

Camera Calibration

Three-stage calibration ensures consistent quality: focus and DPI validation, flat-field correction for uniform illumination, and exposure linearization for accurate tone reproduction.

Stage 2

Secure Transfer

Captured images are securely uploaded to cloud storage, ready for central office processing.

S3-Compatible Storage

Works with AWS S3, MinIO, Backblaze B2, or any S3-compatible storage provider configured per organization.

Resume Support

Large uploads can be paused and resumed. Network interruptions won't lose progress.

Pre-Signed URLs

Secure, time-limited upload URLs ensure only authorized transfers reach your storage.

Verification

File hashes verify integrity. Every uploaded image is confirmed to match what was captured. Transfer operator attribution ensures accurate payment tracking alongside file integrity verification.

Download Locking

Transfer claiming prevents duplicate downloads. When an operator claims a transfer, it's locked until download completes, ensuring no duplicate work.

Cloud transfer and synchronization
Stage 3

Central Office Editing

Editing operators process transferred images - cropping, splitting, merging, and preparing for client delivery.

Image Processing

Crop, rotate, adjust contrast, and optimize images for final delivery specifications.

Split Operations

Split double-page captures into individual pages using OpenCV-based intelligent book center detection, with percentage-based fallback. One captured image becomes two delivered images.

Sequence Management

Reorder, renumber, and manage image sequences to match delivery requirements.

Quality Control

Review and approve images before moving to delivery. Flag issues for rework.

Payment Tracking

Click-based capture event tracking records payable work. Supervisors can adjust click counts with documented reasons during the editing phase.

Stage 4

Client Delivery & Export

Final processed images are delivered to the client's systems through FamilySearch integration or custom export configurations, with complete audit trails, format compliance, and verification at every step.

FamilySearch Integration

Native integration for delivering genealogical records directly to FamilySearch systems.

Format Compliance

Output in client-specified formats (JPEG, TIFF, PNG) with required naming conventions.

Audit Trail

Complete record of who delivered what, when, with file hashes for verification.

Invoicing Data

Ingested image counts drive billing. This is your invoiceable work.

Custom Export Templates

Build delivery folder structures and filenames from project metadata using the template engine. Configure separators, fixed text segments, and metadata-driven naming.

Watermarking

Apply text or image watermarks to delivered images. Configure placement, opacity, and content per delivery configuration.

Multiple Destinations

Deliver to FamilySearch, S3 buckets, or SFTP servers. Configure multiple delivery destinations per project with independent format and quality settings.

Understanding Your Metrics

Four key metrics track work through the pipeline and drive payments and invoicing.

Images Transferred

Original count sent from capture operators to central office. This is what capture operators initially deliver.

Used for: Tracking capture volume

Images Edited

Images processed by editing operators. May differ from transferred count due to splits/merges.

Used for: Editor workload tracking

Images Ingested

Final images delivered to the client. This equals Images Total once delivery is complete.

Used for: Client invoicing

Payable Clicks

Capture events recorded per operator for payment calculations. Click counts can be adjusted with documented reasons. Drives operator payroll and compensation.

Used for: Operator payment
